Domaine Begude is a 29 hectare family-owned, historic estate set high at 320m altitude in the foothills of the Pyrénées in the Limoux region of the South of France. The vineyard was established in the late 16th century and due to its great terroir, has always enjoyed a reputation for excellence. We make white, red, rose still wines and fizz in Pays d'Oc IGP, Haute Vallee de l'Aude IGP & AOP Limoux. Our driving ambition is to produce outstanding cool climate wines from this wonderful terroir. Begude fruit is of the very highest natural quality thanks to our long growing season and our belief in a healthy, sustainable environment through organic farming- we are currently "in conversion" to Ecocert and NOP certification. The whole range of our wines is available to buy both at Domaine Begude and through many distributors worldwide- in France, UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland and Singapore. Please contact us for full distributor details. We are lucky enough to have enjoyed much positive press comment; this is what Robert Parker’s “Bargain Wines Guide 2011” said of our Terroir 11300 Chardonnay recently: “Utterly beguiling. Full of flowers, citrus, orchard fruits, and almond, this offers some lushness of texture while remaining bright and refreshing, and displays a shimmering sense of minerality that would be worthy of a Chablis costing three times the price.” |
